Geschützte Ursprungsbezeichnung: Drama

Weinklassifikation: Rot Trocken

Weinbereitung: Für die Vinifikation wurden Trauben mit hoher phenolischer Reife verwendet, bei denen das Entrappen von Hand erfolgte und dann für eine mehrtägige kalte vorfermentative Extraktion in einen Eichenvinifier gestellt wurden. Anschließend alkoholische Gärung bei kontrollierten abgestuften Temperaturen. Nach der Gärung reifte der Wein für 22 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern.

Weiberge: Das Michaelidis Estate liegt in Kyrgia, Drama, auf einer Höhe von 220 Metern am Fuße des Berges Xerovouni mit Lehm-Kalkstein-Boden. Dort wird die Lagotopos-Rebe mit der seltenen Sorte Mavrotragano angebaut, die aus Santorini stammt. So entsteht der spezifische Rotwein, der anschließend 22 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern reift und insgesamt werden nur 930 Flaschen verkauft.

Geschmacksnoten: Reichhaltige Aromen von roten und schwarzen Früchten wie Kirschen, Brombeeren und Pflaumen sowie Noten von Vanille und Nelken. Sein Geschmack ist voll, intensiv, mit spürbarer Säure, hohen Tanninen und einem langen Nachgeschmack.
